I’ve always been fascinated by unique places. Places that have been forgotten, abandoned, or generally abused always leave me curious and thoughtful. Who lived here? Whats the story might these walls or grounds tell? One of my greatest objectives when shooting is to simply capture something that invokes an emotion or thought. If I accomplish that goal then I feel the final image is a success.

Ultimately, let me begin by saying the Abandoned Prison located in Atlanta is a fairly popular location. Many have been there to explore and hopefully many more will follow in the future. My first visit was laughable, cautious and a little dangerous, I nearly fell through what happened to be an ivy covered roof. If you get a chance to visit, enjoy, and most of all, respect the location.

With that said, please enjoy the gallery below of the shots from my first visit to this amazing location.

A number of the images from this location are available in the Fine Art Prints section of my site.

However, If you see something you are particularly fond of please don’t hesitate to send me a quick message for a quote.
