As you might have guessed, seeing “Part I” in the title for the previous article this is going to be an ongoing series given my recent effort to reprocess a whole host of my archived images.

This article is related to one of my favorite and commonly used location, Sope Creek. If you get a chance, I’d highly suggest taking the family out to visit this location (you can find information about it in some of my previous articles about it).

While it does take a small hike to access the old ruins, it’s really quite worth it to experience such a magnificent slice of history. I hope you enjoy my re-processed & re-envisioned high dynamic range view of this fantastic spot! Don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts!

A Masked Adventure

I was approached by a model that was curious if I’d done any shoots themed around masks. My first thought to the gas mask and re-breather masks I’ve shot with a few of my alternative models and I must say I was quite surprised when the model produced examples of her lovely masks.

These masks are more of a classic Venetian, or grand masquerade style but I have to say I really enjoyed working with them.

Jennifer was trying to capture the mystery and overall look of the masks while also incorporating some of my dark themes. I’ll admit, I was really able to flush out my dark themes in one of the shots and while I haven’t been able to complete post processing our shoot at the time of writing this post, I’m still quite pleased with whats been posted thus far. The mood, the overall impression, all touches on things I admire and I couldn’t have asked for more from a shoot.

If you’re looking for a model in the Atlanta area, I’d highly recommend Jennifer. She was professional and quite the inspiration throughout our day spend at the old ruins of Sope Creek.

Gothic fashion at…

Wait for it… wait for it… wait for it… Yes, yet another one of my recent shoots was shot at Sope Creek.

I’ve gotta say, it was truly a delight to work with Athena and her lovely sister. It was a beautiful and cool morning to be working at Sope Creek. My only big complain of the day was that we had a DS casualty during the course of the morning and lighting was truly harsh. The light was easily handled by sticking to the shadows for most of the shoot, though the DS was another story. Last I heard it was still in intensive care… and for a gamer that’s a frighting thought indeed.

As for Athena and her sister, I really do hope I can work with this dynamic duo again soon!

The lovely Dalida at Sope Creek

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been trying to schedule more shoots to help expand upon my Wedding & Engagement Photography. I was very lucky to happen upon Dalida on Model Mayhem looking to add some shots to her portfolio with a similar look in mind. After a short discussion online, we were off to spend an afternoon at Sope Creek.

I have to say, I’m quite pleased with the overall look and feel of this set with her. Sope Creek is truly a versatile location and I’m excited about potentially scheduling some clients for their engagement set there in the next couple of months. As for my shoot with Dalida, I’ll let the results speak for themselves.

Exploring old ruins with a gothic beauty

As I somewhat alluded to in my post over my steampunk shoot, I’ve always been interested with those old aesthetics. As of this moment, I also have an ongoing casting for models with Gothic or Victorian attire that they’d like shot in one of my unique locations. I was blessed a few months ago with a delightful shoot with the beauty below. Morgan was truly a lovely model to work with and I must say we’ve got some truly amazing wardrobe to work with in the future.

A couple of real dolls

A model I’ve worked with a number of times, Jessica (linked below) contacted me the tail end of last year to shoot one of her friends with a very creative idea. They wanted to do a lollipop/doll shoot at one of my old favorite locations here in Atlanta. While the weather was murky to say the least, Allison was truly a delight to work with and took excellent direction from Jessica. Liz, the youngest of the trio also did a spectacular job and gave quite a unique perspective as well as humor to the entire affair. As always, I’m quite pleased with the resulting shots, I can’t wait to see what the both of them come up with in 2009!

Angels decend upon Sope Creek

A few months ago I happened upon these two on Model Mayhem. It was quite a treat to be able to shoot both of them in the same evening at one of my favorite locations to shoot. I want to say Jessica suggested the whole good and evil concept and I got to say I really liked how they turned out. They both were able to play off each other so well and the overall shoot was quite delightful. I hope I’m able to work with them again in 2009!
